Business As Usual With New Twists In Tenerife

Tenerife’s all year sunshine, beaches, and hotels are already here, they aren’t about to be swept away by the ebb and flow of world business tides. The same goes for the infrastructure of the island, trams in the capital Santa Cruz, a new fibre optic telecommunications link to mainland Spain, a United States Chamber of Commerce, and the ITER renewable energy centre, all bringing new investment to Tenerife.

FRINA Tenerife has some great business opportunities to offer with bars, cafes, restaurants, and non-catering businesses and is already seeing new investment areas opening up. Here are just a few ways that Tenerife is evolving and improving to become even better value for money.

1. Bright Beachfronts, Perky Parks, Heavenly Hotels

A new beach at Callao Salvaje now has an opening date for March 2012, joining recent facelifts for La Caleta, and Playa San Juan. New promenades make it possible to walk from Los Cristianos, through Playa de Las Americas, Fañabe, and Torviscas, and along the west coast from Playa San Juan to Los Gigantes via the newly revealed splendour of Alcala’s coast.
Parks will be popping up in Costa del Silencio, Parque de la Reina and Los Cristianos. The 30 million euro refit of Hotel Mencey in Santa Cruz came within a week of Bahia del Duque in Fañabe being voted best resort in Spain by Conde Nast.

2. Welcoming The World

Tenerife Tourism is reaping rewards from promotions in new markets like France, the Czech Republic and Russia as well as annually attending the World Travel Market in London and FITUR in Madrid. The Guardian World Travel Awards were held in Tenerife in September, the word keeps spreading.

3. Tenerife More Popular Than Ever

Government figures show 1.5 million British visitors to Tenerife already this year, well on target to beat the 2005 record. That’s a 12% rise and 31% of visitors are British. More customers to spend in your new bar, restaurant or dive centre.

4. New Business Opportunities

Rural tourism is one of many growth markets in Tenerife. Five new volcanic tours are starting up, gastronomy, walking, art and culture, and extreme sports are also on the rise. Las Galletas and Los Abrigos are now marketing themselves as centres of excellence for diving, FRINA Tenerife can match your business experience to new ways to make your investment grow.

5. Tenerife A Centre Of Commerce

Historically Tenerife was a centre for sea traders, now it’s once again ready to exploit its location by linking continents through business. The NAP project will unite America, Africa, and Europe through a hi-tech communication hub in Tenerife. Long haul flight companies are also looking at stop overs in Tenerife, well if it’s already popular with World Cruise liners.

If all those incentives aren’t enough you could always dip your toes by investing in Tenerife commercial property or buying an investment property with a tenant and reap returns of 5% to 9% as FRINA Tenerife guide you through the longer term options. Come on in, the waters lovely.
